The launch of Four One Seven wouldn’t be possible without the world-class service of Canada’s most well known VIP host, Mike Chalut from M Team Productions. As a well-known television and radio personality, Mike has made an indelible mark in the Canadian nightlife and entertainment scene, with 13 years of experience hosting gala parties, planning events, and opening top restaurants and clubs, in addition to his dazzling presence as a television and radio personality. Mike and his business partner, the tireless Marty Fortier, helped bring all the elements of Four One Seven together to create Toronto’s newest hot spot, Four One Seven Restaurant and Lounge: Destination Danforth.
Four One Seven Restaurant and Lounge is proud to welcome the extremely talented Chef Kai Zyganiuk as the restaurant’s Executive Chef. Toronto-native Chef Kai brings over 16 years of culinary experience to Four One Seven, where his philosophy of fresh, seasonal and regional ingredients are the main driving force behind the concept. Chef Kai is taking the approach of implementing a menu stemming from Mediterranean staples with a modern twist. The focus is on fresh local ingredients including produce, seafood, high quality olive oils, exceptional meats and poultry. Guests should expect bold fresh flavors with French cooking techniques and elegant presentation. Recent culinary trips to Los Angeles and New York City, where he met with local chefs and dined at top establishments, have given him a revitalized outlook on our relationship with food. Simple ingredients along with well-executed techniques will create exciting dishes that will excite the palate. Kai has been busy perfecting his craft and making his mark as one of Toronto’s most talented young chefs.
THE RESTAURANT’S VISION
The vision for Four One Seven comes from Eleni Gountanos and her parents, Anthony and Sophie Pavlou. Eleni spent her teens working alongside her father in the family grocery store, and brings her passion for flair and colour, while Anthony and Sophie have over 30 years experience in the food industry and a keen eye for design. Eleni’s favourite elements of fire and water have heavily influenced the theme, with water representing tranquility and life, while fire stands for the spice of life, the sound of crackling wood during family time around the fireplace, and the sizzle of food on the grill. Family and the community of the Danforth are very important to the Gountanos/Pavlous, and it shows in their commitment to realizing Eleni and Anthony’s dream together
